About the Academy : Land for the Future Stars

The Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy (MBSFA) is a joint venture between Mohun Bagan Athletic Club and the Steel Authority of India Limited. The Academy serves as one of the best youth football academies, as far as scouting, harnessing and the production of young footballing talent is concerned, in and for India. It was founded on 20th July, 2003 and started functioning in terms of player production from 2004 onwards. The academy is based in the heart of the steel city of Durgapur that distances itself about 182 kms from Kolkata, where the parent club located. By evaluating the prevailing youth academy systems in Europe and other parts of the world, the players brought up at the academy are trained to face the world’s best. The players produced are made to plunge themselves in the existing pool of professional league clubs in India and abroad to shine in club football and also represent the Indian National Football Team. With the formation of such an academy, Mohun Bagan has ushered a new era in Indian football. A strong and better Indian team with harnessed players from academies as such as MBSFA’s, would give all Indians the posterity for which the country shall remain indebted to Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy.
