Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy of Kolkata clinched the title by beating Indian Football Association, also of Kolkata, 1-0 in the well-contested final of the 8th Administrator’s Challenge Cup All-India Under-17 Football Tournament at the Sector 17 Football Stadium here on 13th September 2010.
The all-important goal was scored by T Borish Singh in his second attempt by converting a penalty in the 75th minute.
Both the teams were equally balanced and exhibited the brilliant piece of soccer
techniques. Both the teams framed good moves at several occasions but their vigilant
custodians denied many of the sure chances.
In the 20th minute of play Gopal Kundu of Mohun Bagan initiated a move from
their half and sent a long penetrative pass to the right winger Narayan Biswas, who after controlling the ball gave a short pass to Sanjoy Haldar in the penalty box but Sanjoy Haldar was not vigilant and missed the bass and a chance of score.
Both the teams were locked at 0-0 at the breather on the resumption of play after
the interval both the teams tried their level best to score but missed the chances they got.
 
In the 57th minute of play IFA Kolkatta frame a good move from the mid field.
Jitu Das gave a grounder pass to Mithun but his short went over the bar. In the 55th
minute of play Debjit Mondal of Mohun Bagan got a chance to score the goal but his kick went wider from the top of the penalty area.
It was again Mithun of IFA who after dribbling past the Mohun Bagan defender
took a power full shot at Mohun Bagan goal which struck the cross bar. In the 65th
minute of play Puppar Mazumdar took a header at Mohun Bagan goal which was
brilliantly saved by the Mohun Bagan custodian Saikat Das.
In the 75th minute of play Mohun Bagan lads initiated a move from the right flank
their right out T.Borish Singh sent a superb lofted cross in the penalty area of IFA where alert Debjit Mondal of Mohun Bagan took the header which struck the hand of Sandip Patra of IFA in resultant a penalty kick was awarded to Mohun Bagan.
T. Borish Singh of Mohun Bagan took the penalty kick which was brilliantly
saved by IFA alert custodian Sandip Paul but their defenders failed to stop the kicker T.Borish Singh in scoring off the rebound ball.
Sandip Dey, Ranjan Dass, Debjit Mondal and Anubarata Maity of Mohun Bagan were cautioned by the referee in the 5th, 28th , 79th and 86th minute of play respectively.
Lob Mondal of IFA was also cautioned in the 5th minute of play for involving in
rough play.
Chandigarh Director Sports M.L. Sharma gave away the prizes to the winning and
runner-up teams. The winners received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and a rolling trophy while runners-up were given Rs. 25,000.
Earlier during the interval Pradip Mehra, Advisor to Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh
facilitated the Chandigarh Football team which won the Junior National Football
Championship for B.C. Roy Trophy. Each member of the team was given Rs. 5,000 cash.
